In this gallery Knight displays figurative paintings to transform commonplace environments into metaphorical scenes that intimate realities favored by the heart. Ordinary neighborhood markets, houses, hillsides and allies, cropped from the world and transfigured by technique, became unexpected narratives revealing not what we see, but what we think we see.

Knight's everyday portraits transcend mere visual reporting, building a space and time where our proclivity to see what we know or think we know, overshadows what is before us and shapes our perception. Pigment and binder, realistically rendered, reflect the mind's eye, presenting a point of view altered by the analogous images that are stored in ones psyche and become the vernacular of our visual vocabulary and by extension the core of our knowing.
